Ashish Kumar Srivastava, a 2011-batch IAS officer from the Uttarakhand cadre, assumed the role of Regional Director of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Central Region, Prayagraj, today. His appointment, under the Central Staffing Scheme, was officially announced by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on October 25, 2024. Srivastava’s tenure is set for four years or until further orders from the DoPT.

Hailing from Jaunpur and educated in Varanasi, Srivastava began his career as an IAS officer after being allocated the Uttarakhand cadre upon passing the UPSC Civil Services Examination. His previous roles include serving as the District Magistrate of Dehradun and CEO of Dehradun Smart City Ltd. He has held several key administrative positions and was most recently posted as Additional Secretary in the Uttarakhand Higher Education Department.

The SSC Regional Director position had been vacant since October 2, following the departure of ITS officer Rahul Sachan, who returned to his parent department, Telecommunications, after an eight-year tenure.
