Appointments: Nishant Kumar Yadav made DC Chandigarh, Karma R. Bonpo appointed Director, Census Operations & Citizen Registration

Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. This appointment, effective immediately, is on an inter-cadre deputation from the Haryana cadre to the AGMUT cadre. Yadav, a 2013-batch Haryana cadre IAS officer, previously served as the District Collector of Gurugram.
In Sikkim, IAS officer Karma R. Bonpo has been appointed as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration. Bonpo, a 2010-batch Sikkim cadre IAS officer, who was serving as Secretary of the Commerce & Industries Department, will hold this role until December 31, 2025. Bonpo’s prior experience includes his role as District Collector of Sikkim’s West District.

Meanwhile, in Delhi, IAS officer Dr. Karuna Kumari has been appointed as Director of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare on central deputation. Dr. Kumari, a 2010-batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre officer, was serving as Secretary of the Revenue & Disaster Management Department in Assam. She will serve in her new position for a tenure of five years.
