KSRTC Launches 10 Premium Superfast AC Buses with Enhanced Passenger Amenities and Safety Features

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced 10 new premium superfast AC buses on key routes across the state. Manufactured by Tata Motors and priced at ₹39.8 lakh each, these BS-VI-compliant 40-seater buses offer a range of amenities, including 1 GB of free Wi-Fi with a top-up facility, mobile charging points, reading lamps, bottle holders, magazine pouches, and more. Passengers will also benefit from reclining seats with seat belts, a music system, television, and CCTV surveillance. Safety is further boosted with electronic stability control (ESC) and AI camera-assisted driver monitoring.

The buses are expected to cost slightly more than existing superfast services but remain more affordable than other AC buses. Following a successful month-long trial run on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kottayam-Ernakulam route, KSRTC plans to procure more buses based on the performance of the newly launched fleet. The buses are part of the public utility’s phased plan to replace older models, with seat bookings available through the KSRTC mobile app.
