West Bengal: Prabhat Kumar Mishra ACS Finance, Roshni Sen made ACS Water Resources Department

The West Bengal government has executed a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring three senior IAS officers to new roles.


The current ACS of the State’s Finance Department, Manoj Pant, a 1991-batch IAS officer, has been named the new Chief Secretary of West Bengal, just hours after being assigned to irrigation and waterways.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Prabhat Kumar Mishra, a 1993-batch IAS officer, has been appointed to lead the Finance Department with additional charge of the Department of Planning and Statistics. Mishra previously held positions in the Department of Irrigation and Waterways, with additional responsibilities in the Water Resources Investigation and Development Department and as Project Director of AIDM.

Roshni Sen, a 1993-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new ACS of the Water Resources Investigation and Development Department and Project Director of ADMI, a department previously overseen by Mishra. Sen will continue to manage fisheries, aquaculture, aquatic resources, and fishing harbours as the ACS and will also serve as the Chairman and Managing Director of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation.
