In a recent bureaucratic reshuffle, the West Bengal Government implemented a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring several IAS officers across the state. Binod Kumar (1996 batch), currently serving as Additional Chief Electoral Officer in the state CEO office, has been appointed Principal Secretary of the State Urban Development and Municipal Affairs department.

Smaraki Mahapatra (2002 batch), also serving as Additional CEO in the state CEO office, will now assume the role of Secretary in the Department of Mass Education Extension and Library Services. Manoj Agarwal (1990 batch), the current Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the State Fire and Emergency Services department, has been assigned additional charge of the state Forest department, replacing Vivek Kumar (1990 batch). Mr. Kumar will now manage the state Land and Land Reforms department alongside his duties as ACS of the Animal Resources Development department.

Dr. Krishna Gupta (1991 batch), the current ACS in the Department of Mass Education Extension and Library Services, has been given the additional responsibility of the state Co-operation department.
