Bihar government


The Bihar government has transferred 29 IPS officers across key positions. This reshuffle includes Superintendents of Police (SPs) from 15 districts, such as Nalanda, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gopalganj, Purnia, Samastipur, and East and West Champaran.

In the transfers, IPS Vinay Tiwari has been appointed as the new Rail SP of Muzaffarpur, while IPS Swapna Gautam Meshram has been designated Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP-3) in Bodh Gaya, with additional charge of BSAP-17. IPS Deepak Ranjan will now serve as the Assistant Inspector General of Police in BSAP.

Former Purnia SP, IPS Upendra Nath Verma, has been transferred to BSAP-10, Patna, and IPS Anant Kumar Rai will take over BSAP-16, Patna. Meanwhile, IPS Gaurav Mangla has been assigned as Assistant Inspector General of Police for Railways, and IPS D Amarkesh is now responsible for the SP Cyber Training Portal and Coordination in the Economic Offences Unit.


Additional transfers include IPS Pankaj Kumar as the new SP of the State Crime Records Bureau, while IPS Jitendra Kumar has been placed in charge of the SP Weaker Section and SP Mahila Koshang in CID. IPS Vineet Kumar has been transferred to the Special Branch, and IPS Pramod Kumar Yadav is now leading the STF. IPS Manish Kumar will handle the responsibilities of SP of the Central Selection Council (Constable Recruitment).

Several City and Rural SPs have also been reassigned. Darbhanga City SP, IPS Shubham Arya, is now the SP of Buxar, and Muzaffarpur City SP, IPS Awadhesh Dixit, has taken over as SP of Gopalganj. IPS Vaibhav Sharma has become the new SP of Katihar, IPS Shailesh Kumar Sinha is the new SP of Sheohar, and IPS Bambam Chaudhary is the new SP of the Surveillance Investigation Bureau.

IPS Ajay Kumar, appointed SP of Lakhisarai, is currently training at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad. Sheikhpura SP Baliram Chaudhary has been given an additional charge of Lakhisarai SP during this period.
