In accordance with the health bulletin released by the Government of Delhi on June 30, as many as 2,199 COVID positive cases have surfaced in the past 24 hours in the national capital. As per the government’s bulletin, there are 440 containment zones in Delhi as on June 30.
In the wake of severe outbreak of the Coronavirus, the death toll in Delhi has reached 2,742 with 62 more deaths reported in 24 hours. As of yet, 58,348 people have recovered, while, there are 26,270 active cases in the city.
Looking at the 440 containment zones, people are not allowed to move out or enter the containment zones. All the essential supplies are being delivered to people’s doorstep by the officials.
Status of Healthcare Facilities in Delhi
In total, there are 13,661 beds in the national capital dedicated to COVID-19 patients. As many as 7,749 beds are lying vacant.
However, in the wake of the rising number of victims affected by the Coronavirus, the government increased testing in the city. In a single day, 9,585 Reverse Transcriptase – Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests and 7,594 Antigen tests were conducted.
According to the bulletin, “An order has been issued to all hospitals in Delhi to rework their capacity to increase the number of beds with ventilator facility, over and above the existing beds.” Moreover, the order stated that arrangements have to be made as Delhi will be shortly getting 150 more ventilators from the Centre, besides the 425 already received.
