A N Jha, the current Secretary, Expenditure has now been appointed as the Finance Secretary.
He is a 1982 Manipur Tripura cadre officer. His posting was recently approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

He is succeeding Hasmukh Adhia, a 1981 Gujarat cadre officer after his superannuation on Nov 30.
He is a post graduate in History Honours from Delhi University’s St Stephen College.
Jha is also the recipient of World Bank scholarship to pursue Masters in Economic Policy Management from McGill University in Canada. He is also an MPhil in public administration from Delhi University.
