SPS Bakshi, the current CMD of Engineering Projects India Limited (EPIL), is all set to create a record by holding the position of Chairman & Managing Director of Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) for a decade. It could be possible the special extension provided by the government.
The ACC has cleared the proposal of the Department of Heavy Industries recommending Bakshi’s extension beyond 04 May 2014 as a reward considering the difficult times faced by other PSU chiefs to complete their residual service.
Bakshi completed five years tenure as CMD when Modi government came to power at the Centre with a thumping majority. Keeping in view the denial of extension of service for NTPC & SAIL CMDs, the extension given to Bakshi is being seen as a special recognition by the government.
