BSNL set to launch Rs. 3,250 Tablet PC

BSNL has partnered with Noida based Pantel (http://www.pantel.in/) to bring out three tablets, the cheapest one of which, the Panta Tpad IS 701r, will be sold for Rs 3,250. It is noteworthy that the Datawind’s low cost tablet, Aakash is priced at Rs. 2500. However, the Tpad boasts of much better specifications as compared to the Aakash.
BSNL Penta T PAD IS 701R is powered by 1 GHz processor (ARM11 IMAP210) clubbed with 256 MB RAM. It has a resistive screen and runs on Android operating software. It also has a HDMI port through which it can be connected to TV. The tablet will be sold along with special data plans and 3G services from BSNL. Its 7 inch resistive touch screen comes with 800×600 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.
The two other tablets are priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,500. Both have capacitive screen, which has better touch sensitivity. These two tablets are also made by Pantel. According to the information available on the Pantel website the company has started a pre-booking for all three tablets.
The second tablet is named ‘Panta Tpad_ws704c’. The costliest amongst the three tablets is the Tpad WS802C which has an 8 inch capacitive screen. It comes with a faster 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. The internal memory is also bigger at 4 GB. Rest of the features like GPS, camera and Bluetooth are same as the 704C.
