This egov article discusses in details the status of e-governance in UAE and the benefits that the people have accrued from the e-Governance initiatives of UAE.
As part of the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), the Chief Minister of the east Indian state of Bihar, Nitish Kumar inaugurated a Common Service Center (CSC) locally known as Vasudha e-Seva centre in Panapur, a small village near Danapur, in the state. The innauguration was conducted through video-conferencing, thus living up to a complete e-Governance model.
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) has released its 2008 e-Government Survey, which shows that all GCC member states have significantly improved in e-Government Readiness since the 2005 survey.
The 2008 United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) UN eGovernment survey has ranked the UAE in 5th position in terms of transactional services. The survey has also ranked UAE 32th among 192 UN members states in the 2008 eGovernment Readiness Index.
The UPA Government of India, has implemented the Right to Information Act (RTI) in 2005, which empowers the common man by providing access to information on issues touching their daily life.
