The government has initiated e-governance measures to simplify the process of governance, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh has said.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Transparency and Accountability’ recently, Singh stated, “It is a matter of satisfaction that the Department of Administrative Reforms has during the last three months not only taken major initiatives in the direction of ensuring good governance but had also evolved mechanisms to ensure that the governance is not only good but also simplified.”

The minister informed that in the last three months, secretaries and directors of various states were invited to take part in interactive sessions. The reason behind organising such workshops was to bring together state representatives on a single platform to update their abilities for improved deliverance.

During the seminar, Singh released a report on ‘Research and Evaluation Study’ commissioned by DARPG. The report incorporated 10 best practices covering different sectors in the field of governance, such as primary education, health, gender equality, rural development etc.
