Utkal Ranjan Sahoo appointed DGP Rajasthan

In an official announcement made on February 10th, the Rajasthan government has designated senior IPS officer Utkal Ranjan Sahoo as the state’s new Director General of Police (DGP). Sahoo, an IPS officer of the 1988 batch, assumes the position for a term of two years or until further notification.

Following the voluntary retirement of former DGP Umesh Mishra in December 2023, Officer Sahoo steps into the role. Hailing from Odisha, Sahoo had been promoted to the rank of DG in June 2020, previously serving as DG Home Guard for approximately 2.5 years.
