Sanjay Jaju appointed Secretary of Information & Broadcasting Ministry

Sanjay Jaju (IAS), a seasoned bureaucrat, has assumed the role of Secretary at the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, effective Monday. Prior to his appointment, he served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production.


A 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Telangana cadre, Jaju brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He holds a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with credentials as a Cost & Management Accountant and an MBA in Finance. His professional journey has seen him contribute significantly to various sectors including urban development, infrastructure, civil supplies, education, and tribal welfare.

Jaju’s commitment to leveraging information technology for development and governance is evident in his tenure with the Department of Defence Production (DDP). Notably, he played a pivotal role in establishing iDEX (Innovation for Defence Excellence), an ecosystem dedicated to fostering innovation and technology development in the realm of Defence and Aerospace. iDEX operates under the auspices of the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), a “not-for-profit” company formed under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013.

The appointment of Sanjay Jaju is expected to bring fresh perspectives and initiatives to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, reflecting his proven track record and dedication to public service.
