The Finance Minister of India, Mr P. Chidambaram, launched a website of the National Savings Institute (NSI) for dissemination of information and online redress of complaints related to various small savings schemes offered by the central government.

The website would facilitate citizens’ interface with the government in the area of small savings on an e-Governance platform. The website is http://nsiindia.gov.in. It can be accessed for information on various small savings schemes offered by the Government. The website also offers downloads for commonly used forms for depositors. An official release said that a major feature of the website is the single window mechanism for online management of queries and complaints. Users from any location can post a query or complaint on the website and track its status using a unique auto-generated code number.
