Karnataka which was ranked No 2 last year in e-Governance is now slipped to No 9 according to a survey, conducted by CyberMedia’s publication Dataquest, in association with research firm IDC India on the impact of e-Governance on business and laypersons. According to survey, there is lack of political stability, which is crucial to the success of e-Governance initiatives.

The CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Awards 2006-07 were announced during the 2nd CSI Annual Convention at Grand Ashok, Bangalore, India on December 1st 2007.
Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu have successfully implemented State-Wide Area Network (SWAN), the backbone infrastructure for rolling out the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). All the three states have opted for the private-public partnership (PPP) mode for the project.
Goa Information Technology Minister, Mr Dayanand Narvekar has said that knowledge of IT would be made mandatory for government jobs in future and that the government would set up training institutes all over the state for the purpose. The government has ambitious plan to implement e-Governance policy.
