In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Gujarat government has appointed D P Desai, a 2008 batch IAS officer and former CEO of AUDA and GUDA, as the new Municipal Commissioner of Rajkot. He will succeed Anand Babulal Patel, a 2010 batch IAS officer, current Municipal Commissioner of Rajkot, who has been transferred to the General Administrative Department (GAD).
Additionally, Bhavya Verma, a 2016 batch IAS officer and current Mission Director of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) in Gandhinagar, as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of both the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) and the Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (GUDA).
