Sameer Kumar Khade Named Chairman of Assam Administrative Tribunal

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Assam government has appointed Mr. Sameer Kumar Khade, a senior 1989 batch IAS officer of the Assam cadre, as the new Chairman of the Assam Administrative Tribunal (AAT). Mr. Khade, who has recently returned from a central deputation, will take over the prestigious position from Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, a 1990 batch IAS officer, who had been holding the additional charge of the role.

Mr. Prasad, who is currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Environment & Forest and Soil Conservation Departments, will continue in his dual role. He also holds the position of Director General at the Assam Administrative Staff College. Mr. Khade’s appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the AAT, marking a new phase in the tribunal’s functioning.
