In a recent development, the Himachal Pradesh government transferred 8 IAS and 14 HPAS officers on Wednesday. Notably, Omkar Chand Sharma, the principal secretary for revenue-cum-financial commissioner revenue, has been entrusted with an additional charge – that of principal secretary for tribal development and forest. Furthermore, he will also be taking on the role of principal secretary in the Jal Shakti Vibhag.
Amandeep Garg, who held the position of secretary for personnel, has been assigned an additional responsibility as the secretary for forest in the Himachal Pradesh government. This shift has effectively relieved Sharma from his duties in this sector.
Abhishek Jain, the secretary for education and information technology, will now shoulder the added responsibility of being the secretary for home and vigilance. Additionally, he will relinquish the roles of secretary for technical education and secretary to the chief minister, which will be taken over by Bharat Harbanslal Khera.

Other changes include C Paulrasu, secretary for AR, training & FA and RPG, who will now assume the role of secretary for cooperation as well as secretary for horticulture. Kadam Sandeep Vasant, divisional commissioner of Shimla, will hold the dual positions of director for horticulture, Himachal Pradesh, and registrar for cooperative societies. Chander Prakash Verma, special secretary for revenue, will take on the responsibilities of commissioner for departmental enquiries, special secretary for forest, and special secretary for industries.

Manesh Kumar, previously the additional deputy commissioner for Sirmaur, has been repositioned as special secretary for finance and director for the state audit department. Meanwhile, Naveen Tanwar, the sub-divisional magistrate of Kangra, is set to become the additional deputy commissioner and project officer for ITDP in Bharmour, Chamba.

The reshuffling also encompasses other officers who will assume new positions across various departments, illustrating the dynamic nature of administrative functions in Himachal Pradesh.
