Vineet Vinayak gets 6-month extension as CBI director

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Joint Director Vineet Vinayak (IPS 1994-Batch) gets an extension of six months on his central deputation tenure in the agency. The proposal to extend Vinayak’s tenure was tabled by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to fetch approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACB) which nodded to the proposal on Tuesday, June 8.

Vinayak will continue to serve as the Joint Director of CBI, for a period of six months beyond March 9, 2021. This is the third round of extension for Vinayak.
