Subodh Kumar Jaiswal


Subodh Kumar Jaiswal (IPS 1985-Batch) has been appointed as the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday, May 25. The decision came from a high power committee comprising of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Lok Sabha Congress Leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary. The committee appointed Jaiswal as the CBI Director for a tenure of two years.

Currently, he is holding the post of Director General (DG) of Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF). From a panel of three officers who were initially shortlisted for the post, Jaiswal was selected. The other two officers were – Kumar Rajesh Chandra, Chief, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and VS Kaumudi, Special Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
