Sitaram Kunte IAS becomes new Chief Secretary of Maharashtra

The Government of Maharashtra, on February 28, 2021, issued official orders for the appointment of Sitaram Kunte (IAS 1985-Batch) as the new Chief Secretary to the state government. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray signed the file for considering Kunte as the new CS on February 27 and the order was issued later.


Kunte has replaced the incumbent Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar (IAS 1984-Batch) on the date of his superannuation on February 28. Prior to this appointment, Kunte was posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Maharashtra.
