PMC to sanction loans to 3365 hawkers under PM SVANidhi

In an effort to aid hawkers affected due to the COVID induced lockdowns, Pune Muncipal Corporation (PMC) sanctioned a loans to 3,365 hawkers under the Centre’s PM SVANidhi scheme.


Under the PM SVANidhi scheme, hawkers will be supported by a maximum laon of Rs 10,000 to recover losses from the lockdown and restart their livelihood. The loan provided is unsecured and has a considerably small rate of interest.

As reported by national daily, the civic body has received as many as 8,373 loan applications from the hawkers. According to Madhav Jagtap, in-charge of Civic Anti-Encroachment Department, “The loan has been sanctioned to 3,655 hawkers till now while the disbursement has been done for 2,083 hawker in their bank accounts.”
