Following the orders from the Centre, Kamran Rizvi, a 1991-Batch IAS officer, has been newly appointed as the Director of Patna Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (PMRCL). Rizvi is currently serving as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.

PMRCL is a joint venture between the Center and the state wherein most of the decision-making powers lie with the chairman. However, it is being believed that with Rizvi’s posting, the metro work will be expedited. The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) set up for the metro project will consist of five directors each at the Center and the state.
