The Coronavirus outbreak has caused the Central and the State Governments to take stringent measures like implementing a nationwide lockdown which has impacted the socio-economic scenario of the country drastically. Also, due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, the country is in heavy suspense over the discontinuation of the 21-day lockdown after April 14. There are speculations if the lockdown would continue.
As per the important government sources, quotes by a national daily, several states and experts have appealed to the central government to increase the ongoing lockdown in the country.
The lockdown was declared by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break the chain of COVID-19 spread and prevent it from further spreading. However, earlier the government was pondering if the can be discontinued from areas that are not COVID-19 hotspots.
Due to the viral widespread, more than 100 deaths have been reported in the country as of yet.
Further, over 4,400 people have been found positive for COVID-19.
