
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet Ministers took oath on Thursday evening in the Rashtrapati Bhavan, administered by the President Ramnath Kovind. As many as 24 Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State each and nine Ministers of State (independent charge) have taken oath.

Other Ministers of State include Prahlad Joshi (Karnataka) , Renuka Singh Saruta (Chhattisgarh), Som Prakash (Punjab), Rameshwar Teli (Assam), Pratap Chandra Sarangi (Odisha), Kailsah Chaudhury (Rajasthan), Kerala BJP leader V. Muraleedharan and Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena).
Missing names in Modi 2.0
Some of the prominent names which did not make their place in the list of Cabinet Ministers are Sushma Swaraj from the Ministry of External Affairs, JP Nadda from the Ministry of Health and Suresh Prabhu from the Ministry of Commerce.
Arun Jaitley had opted out from the government of 2019-24 citing health reasons.

Ministers making re-entry in the Government
The ministers who have been re-inducted in the government include Prahlad Singh Patel, who was minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government; Raosaheb Patil Danve, Maharashtra BJP President; G. Kishan Reddy, Telangana BJP leader and Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, Uttar Pradesh BJP Head.
Danve and Reddy had served the Modi government between 2014 and 2015. Dr Pandey had served the first phase of Modi government as MoS, Human Resource Development in 2016-17.
As per reports, Maneka Gandhi, senior BJP leader and MP is likely to be the Pro-tem Speaker in the 17th Lok Sabha.
