21 IAS get Additional Charges as Rajasthan Transfers 62 Officers; Vaibhav Galaria made CMD Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation

In a major bureaucratic shake-up, the Rajasthan government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, transferred 62 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including 11 district collectors, in a late-night administrative overhaul on Sunday. As part of the reshuffle, 21 IAS officers have been entrusted with additional responsibilities.


The wide-ranging reshuffle marks a generational shift in governance, aiming to strengthen delivery mechanisms at both the district and departmental levels.

The reshuffle, long speculated in bureaucratic circles, also saw 21 senior IAS officers being entrusted with additional charges, reflecting the government’s strategy to enhance administrative efficiency without increasing the bureaucratic footprint.

Key District and Departmental Changes


The reshuffling of 11 district collectors signals a renewed push towards realigning governance with evolving development priorities, especially in areas crucial to tourism, infrastructure, and industrial growth. The move also aims to infuse fresh energy into district-level leadership as part of a broader administrative reconfiguration.

21 IAS Officers Receive Additional Portfolios


Among those assigned additional responsibilities:

  • Abhay Kumar has been given the additional charge of Chairman, Indira Gandhi Canal Board.

  • Shikhar Agrawal takes on the additional role of Chairman, Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO).

  • Bhaskar Atmaram Sawant will also serve as Additional Chief Secretary, Justice Department, and Additional Chief Secretary, Sainik Kalyan.

  • Ajitabh Sharma has been appointed Chairman, State Electricity Transmission Corporation Ltd., as an additional charge.

  • Alok Gupta will also function as Chairman and Managing Director, Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation Limited.

  • Rajesh Kumar Yadav is assigned additional charge as Chairman, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation.

  • Vaibhav Galaria will additionally serve as CMD, Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation.

  • Dr. Devashish Prusty is designated as Chairman, Housing Board, in addition to his existing role.
