Gujarat (India) state government for the first time, has asked the home department to start accepting people’s police complaints by e-Mail.
Initially the e-Mail facility has been launched in three districts of Gandhinagar, Mehsana and Sabarkantha and later on it will be available all over the state as computerisation of all police stations is in full swing. Once the district superintendent will receive the e-Complaint, she will send a copy of the print-out to the nearest police station.

An officer will visit the complainant’s home and take his signature for registering an FIR before starting the investigations. The copies of the FIR as well as e-Complaint will also be sent to the concerned court and respective DIGs to monitor the process.
