The West Bengal government has transferred six senior IPS officers in a fresh administrative reshuffle ahead of the elections. The changes, announced on Saturday, involve officers in the ranks of ADG, IG, DIG and SP, reflecting adjustments in key policing and intelligence positions across the state.
Rajeev Mishra, who was serving as ADG and IGP (Modernisation and Coordination), has been appointed as ADG, South Bengal. The post had fallen vacant after Supratim Sarkar was moved to serve as the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata. In his new role, Mishra will oversee policing in several crucial southern districts.
Laxmi Narayan Meena, previously ADG and IG, Correctional Services, has been posted as ADG and IGP, CID. He replaces the previous CID chief, who was recently appointed as ADG (Cyber). Mukesh, who was IGP of the Murshidabad and Jangipur range, has been appointed as IGP, Intelligence Branch (IB), while Syed Waquar Raza, earlier DIG of Nadia and Ranaghat range, has been posted as DIG, Murshidabad range.
At the district level, Amarnath K, SP of Krishnanagar Police District, has been transferred as SP, Jalpaiguri, and Y Raghuvamshi, who was serving as SP, Jalpaiguri, will now take charge as SP, Krishnanagar Police Division.

The reshuffle is being viewed as part of routine administrative adjustments aimed at ensuring effective law and order management during the election period.
