The Government of Kerala on Thursday announced a major reshuffle of senior IAS officers, creating new ex-cadre posts and assigning full additional charges to streamline administration and drive growth across critical departments.

An ex-cadre post of Resident Commissioner, Kerala House, New Delhi, in the Chief Secretary Grade of IAS, has been created for a period of one year. Puneet Kumar (IAS: 1993: KL), Additional Chief Secretary, Local Self Government Department, has been appointed as the new Resident Commissioner. The post became vacant following the central deputation of Ajiit Kumar (IAS: 2006: KL), who was appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India.
Another ex-cadre post of Additional Commissioner, Kerala GST Department, has also been created for one year. Sreelakshmi R (IAS: 2019: KL), currently Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary, has been appointed to this newly created role.
Additionally, seven senior officers have been entrusted with full additional charges in various departments:

- Mohammed Hanish APM (IAS: 1996: KL), Principal Secretary, Industries Department, given additional charge of Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
- Biju K (IAS: 2006: KL), Secretary, Public Works Department, assigned as Special Officer, Capital Region Development Project-II.
- Dr. K Vasuki (IAS: 2008: KL), Secretary, Labour and Skills Department, entrusted with additional responsibility of the General Education Department.
- Anupama T V (IAS: 2010: KL), Special Secretary, Local Self Government Department, also appointed as Special Secretary (Co-ordination).
- Mohammed Y Safirulla K (IAS: 2010: KL), Special Secretary, appointed as Staff Officer to Chief Secretary.
- Sreelakshmi R (IAS: 2019: KL), designated as Additional Commissioner, Kerala GST Department.
- Dr. Veena N Madhavan (IAS: 2010: KL), Special Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, will hold full additional charges of Special Secretary, Co-operation Department, Special Secretary, Planning and Economic Affairs Department, and Member Secretary, Kerala State Planning Board.
