Microsoft has announced the appointment of Himani Agrawal as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its India and South Asia operations. This marks a significant move in the company’s ongoing strategy to deepen its digital and AI-driven transformation across the region.

With over 25 years of experience, Agrawal is a veteran leader within Microsoft and has held several key positions that have contributed to the company’s growth and innovation. In her most recent role as Chief Partner Officer, she was instrumental in expanding Microsoft’s vast partner ecosystem, encompassing more than 20,000 partners in over 850 cities, which is critical in driving adoption of cloud and AI solutions. Her leadership helped strengthen Microsoft’s market presence and forged strong alliances that spurred digital growth across sectors.

In her new capacity as COO, Agrawal will focus on aligning business objectives across Microsoft’s diverse portfolio, steering operational excellence, and accelerating revenue growth through strategic innovation and business simplification. Her responsibilities will include streamlining operations, enhancing customer engagement, and fortifying Microsoft’s market leadership as the company intensifies its AI-first strategy.

Agrawal’s prior roles have seen her lead high-impact teams as Chief of Staff and Country Head for Azure and Business Applications, where she delivered substantial business expansion and operational improvements.
