70 Officers transferred in Manipur, Mayanglambam Rajkumar appointed DC Imphal West

In a significant administrative shake-up, the Manipur government has transferred 70 officers, including those from the IAS, IRS, IFS, and Manipur Civil Service, across various districts. A notification regarding the large-scale reshuffle was issued by Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh.


As per the official order, Rakesh Balwal, who was serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Thoubal, has been reassigned as SP of Imphal East. Similarly, Anupam, the SP of Senapati, has been transferred to a new posting, while Shivanand Surve, the former SP of Chandel, will now serve as SP of Senapati.

Key police transfers:

  • Sheikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, SP of Churachandpur, has been replaced by Prakhar Pandey.
  • S. Ibomcha Singh takes over as the new SP of Thoubal.
  • Luikham Lanmiyo, currently SP of Tamenglong, has been assigned additional charge of Chandel district.

Key district administration changes:


  • Mayanglambam Rajkumar, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chandel, has been appointed as DC of Imphal West.
  • L. Nandakumar Singh takes over as the new DC of Chandel.
  • Kengoo Zuringla, the former DC of Ukhrul, has been reassigned, while Ashish Das, previously DC of Pherzawl, will now serve as DC of Ukhrul.
  • Mannu Amching has been appointed as the new DC of Pherzawl.

This large-scale bureaucratic overhaul aims to enhance governance efficiency and streamline administrative operations across Manipur.
