In a proud moment for Uttar Pradesh’s industrial growth, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the 10 lakh vehicle from the Tata Motors Lucknow plant, marking a major milestone in India’s automotive journey.

The landmark vehicle—a modern electric bus—symbolises not just production success but also the shift towards sustainable mobility. The event was attended by Natarajan Chandrasekaran, who joined the Chief Minister in celebrating the achievement.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also experienced the newly launched electric bus, appreciating its advanced features and eco-friendly design. The moment highlighted how traditional manufacturing is now evolving with innovation and green technology.

The Lucknow facility, established in 1992, has completed over three decades of operations. Over the years, it has produced 10 lakh commercial vehicles, created employment for nearly 8,000 people, and built a strong supplier ecosystem. The plant has also expanded its reach globally, exporting vehicles to around 15 countries.

Speaking at the event, Yogi Adityanath said the milestone reflects Uttar Pradesh’s transformation into a growing manufacturing hub. He emphasised that improvements in infrastructure, connectivity, and law and order have created a strong environment for industries to thrive.

Highlighting future plans, Natarajan Chandrasekaran shared that the company aims to double production at the Lucknow plant, targeting 20 lakh vehicles in the next five years. He also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable and high-quality manufacturing.

The plant has already achieved “zero-waste” operations, reflecting a strong focus on environmental responsibility and efficient resource use—key elements of modern industrial practices.
