
In a significant development, two distinguished Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the Uttarakhand cadre have been entrusted with crucial responsibilities at the national level. This appointment marks a moment of pride for the state, further solidifying the contribution of its bureaucratic leadership in shaping the country’s administrative landscape.
As per official sources, Dr Raghav Langer, a 2009-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Secretary (Joint Secretary level) in the National Health Commission (NMC) under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This role underscores his vast administrative experience and expertise in governance. Additionally, IAS officer Jyoti Yadav has been designated as Joint Secretary in the National Health Authority (NHA), which operates under the Department of Health and Family Welfare. Their appointments are expected to bring significant contributions to the health sector at the national level.
Dr. Raghav Langer has held multiple key positions throughout his career, displaying exemplary leadership in governance and public administration. His tenure includes serving as the District Magistrate (DM) of Rudraprayag, Chief Executive Officer of the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, Additional Secretary for Higher Education, and Director of the Namami Gange Project in Uttarakhand. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to the administration in Jammu and Kashmir, serving as Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and as the DM of Pulwama and Kathua districts. Before his latest appointment, he was serving as Director in the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

Similarly, Jyoti Yadav has an impressive track record in administration. She previously served as the District Magistrate of Tehri district in Uttarakhand, where she played a pivotal role in local governance. Since 2018, she has been on central deputation, serving as Director in the Ministry of Commerce. Her new role as Joint Secretary in the NHA is expected to benefit from her extensive experience in policy implementation and administration.
