
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved a significant administrative reshuffle, resulting in the transfer and appointment of 35 officers at the Joint Secretary and equivalent levels across various ministries and departments. This large-scale restructuring is aimed at enhancing governance, ensuring administrative efficiency, and strengthening policy implementation in critical sectors.
The list of newly appointed officers, along with their respective assignments, is as follows:
- Muktanand Agarwal (IAS: 2008: RJ) – Appointed as Chief Executive Officer (Joint Secretary level) of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, until November 6, 2027.
- Prajakta L Verma (IAS: 2001: MH) – Assigned as Joint Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy for a tenure of five years, replacing Ajay Ramesh Sule (IDAS: 1993).
- Lakhpat Singh Choudhary (IRSS: 1997) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal, with tenure extending until his superannuation on December 31, 2029.

- Madhup Vyas (IAS: 2000: UT) – Appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India, for a tenure of five years.
