Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has welcomed the Union Budget, calling it “progressive and futuristic,” and asserting that it addresses Bihar’s development priorities. With the state’s assembly elections approaching, he highlighted key provisions such as the Makhana Board and greenfield airports as critical for Bihar’s economic growth.

“The budget is pragmatic and forward-looking. It will accelerate the state’s development. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for their vision,” Kumar said in a statement.

He underscored the significance of the Makhana Board in promoting foxnut cultivation, a sector where Bihar holds a leading position globally. The proposed greenfield airports, he noted, would enhance air connectivity and support increased international flights, boosting trade and tourism.

Kumar also pointed out that expanding IIT-Patna’s capacity would strengthen Bihar’s technical education sector, fostering innovation and research. Additionally, he welcomed the revised income tax slabs, stating that they would provide much-needed relief to the middle class.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the budget aligns with Bihar’s developmental aspirations and sets the stage for long-term economic progress.
