The Bihar government has issued orders for the transfer and posting of seven IPS officers, including officers holding the ranks of Additional Director General (ADG) and Inspector General (IG). The reshuffle also includes five new IPS officers, with two women officers being appointed to key roles.
1996 batch IPS officer Sudhanshu Kumar, currently serving as the Additional Director General of Police (ADG) for Traffic, has been assigned an additional key responsibility. He has now been appointed the ADG of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) and Modernisation.
In another key move, 2005 batch IPS officer and Railway IG P. Kannan has been entrusted with the additional charge of IG Modernisation. This appointment reflects the ongoing focus on modernizing and streamlining policing mechanisms in the state, especially in light of evolving technological needs within law enforcement.
Among the transfers, 2021-batch IPS officer Shikhar Chaudhary, who was previously serving as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Motihari Sadar-1, has been appointed as the Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) for Saran.
Another significant move involves Diksha, a 2021-batch IPS officer who was serving as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). She has now been posted as the SDPO of Patna Nagar, one of the capital city’s crucial areas.
In addition, 2022-batch IPS officer Divyanjali Jaiswal, who was previously a trainee ASP in Nalanda, has been elevated to the position of SDPO for Ramnagar.

Further reshuffling saw Mohibullah Ansari, a trainee ASP from Saran, being appointed the SDPO of Pakri Dayal, Motihari. Meanwhile, Shivam Dhakad, a trainee ASP from Gaya, has been given the responsibility of SDPO for Motihari Sadar-1.
