The Chhattisgarh government has announced an important administrative change, assigning Subodh Kumar Singh, IAS (1997), additional duties within the state’s power sector. Currently serving as the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Singh has now been named the Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company Limited (CSPTCL).
The General Administration Department (GAD) issued two key orders to formalize this arrangement. According to the first order, Dr Rohit Yadav, IAS (2002), Secretary of the Energy Department and Chairman of both the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) and the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL), will proceed on a 70-day earned leave from January 14, 2025, to March 24, 2025. The leave period includes gazetted holidays on January 11-13 and March 25, 2025.
To ensure smooth functioning during Yadav’s absence, Subodh Kumar Singh will take charge of the Energy Department and oversee CSPGCL and CSPDCL, in addition to his current responsibilities as the Chairman of CSPTCL. This expanded role reflects the state’s trust in Singh’s leadership and expertise in managing critical portfolios.
The second order reiterates Singh’s additional appointment as the Chairman of CSPTCL while he continues to serve as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. This move aligns with the government’s commitment to maintaining seamless operations within the state’s power infrastructure during the transition period.
