Ashwini Bhide appointed Principal Secretary to Maharashtra Chief Minister

Ashwini Bhide, an IAS officer from the 1995 batch and the Managing Director of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. She will take over the position from Brijesh Singh, IAS, with immediate effect.


Bhide, who has been at the helm of MMRC since 2015, will continue to oversee her current responsibilities at MMRC until further orders. Known for her extensive administrative experience, she has played a pivotal role in spearheading Mumbai’s metro infrastructure development.

Her prior experience includes various key assignments in Maharashtra, such as Secretary of the School Education Department and Collector of Satara. An accomplished officer, Bhide holds a postgraduate degree in English Literature and an MBA, equipping her with the expertise to handle multifaceted administrative roles. This appointment highlights her career marked by efficiency, dedication, and leadership in both infrastructure and governance.
