Two UP IAS officers transferred, Dhananjay Shukla made Additional Commissioner State Tax

The Uttar Pradesh government transferred two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers on Wednesday in a major reshuffle.


According to the order issued by the state government, 2015 batch IAS officer Dhananjay Shukla who is currently holding the post of Special Secretary (Appointments) will now hold the post of Additional Commissioner State Tax (GST).

Shukla is being replaced by 2018 batch IAS officer Vijay Kumar who is getting an additional charge of Special Secretary (Appointments & Personnel). Kumar is also holding the post of Special Secretary (Mining).

Dhananjay Shukla is considered a powerful bureaucrat in the administrative department of Uttar Pradesh as he was overseeing the appointments of important officials in the state. He was posted in the department for more than seven years.


According to media reports, the transfers were recommended in the cabinet meeting which was held on June 11. The transfer spree of officials will continue until June 30 in the aftermath of the outcome of the Lok Sabha polls, reports stated.

Meanwhile, IAS officer Adarsh Singh has been made GST Commissioner by the Uttar Pradesh government.
