The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on Wednesday said that over Rs 254 crore has been earned so far from scrap disposal.
During the ongoing Special Swachhta campaign 2.0, 37.19 lakh square feet of space have been cleared, which was previously occupied by junk and scrap.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh informed that 40 lakh files were reviewed, 3,05,268 public grievances were redressed, 5416 MP’s references replied and 588 rules were eased during the said timeline.
Singh said tremendous enthusiasm was being witnessed in ministries and departments for institutionalising Swachhata and minimising pendency.
He urged officials to draw inspiration from Prime Minister’s words in his tweet that “such efforts are not only innovative and commendable but most importantly remind us of our basic civic duty of keeping our surroundings and public places clean.”
