The Government of India issued orders to appoint Arun Kumar Garg as the Director in the Ministry of Power. Ahead of the official orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Garg, a 2004-Batch IDES officer, was serving the Ministry as Deputy Secretary.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Garg’s appointment as Director in the Power Ministry. As per the orders, he will hold the post for a period of five years under the Central Staffing Scheme or until further government orders.
