Adityanath Das IAS appointed as new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh

In its recent order, on December 22, the Government of Andhra Pradesh appointed Adityanath Das (IAS 1987-Batch) as the new Chief Secretary to state government. Das has been serving as Special Chief Secretary (Water Resources) since Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy came in power in May 2019.

Das will replace Nilam Sawhney, the incumbent Chief Secretary who is set to retire on December 31. On the request of CM Reddy, Sawhney received two extensions from the Centre as she was set to retire on June 30. Prior to this, she received a three-month extension.
