
The union cabinet’s appointments committee gave nod to the appointment of Rajesh Khullar as executive director, World Bank headquarters, in Washington DC. Khullar will be representing India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka at the World Bank.
Khullar is a 1988-Batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre. He is, at present, posted as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The new appointment at the World Bank will begin from the first week of November.

After receiving the nomination of Khullar from the Union Ministry of Finance, the World Bank will hold an election to select him for appointment by October. His tenure will be for three years from the date of assumption of charge or till he retires in August 2023.
