Gaurav Gupta to head BBMP up till election of new council

As the five-year tenure of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) council comes to an end, senior IAS officer Gaurav Gupta will assume the charge as the administer of Bengaluru city and Manjunath Prasad, Commissioner, BBMP  will report to Gupta.


Gupta, is at present, serving as the Principal Secretary – Commerce and Industry Department. He has been allotted the new charge following a meeting headed by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Chief Secretary Vijaya Bhaskar and Additional Chief Secretary Ramanna Reddy on September 10.

The senior IAS is to head the civic body until a new set of corporators are elected again during the polls which will be held y the end of the year.
