Haryana’s Pradeep Singh stood first in UPSC Civil Services 2019

The results of the Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) Civil Services Examination – 2019 was declared today. Pradeep Singh from Haryana has topped the esteemed examination of the 829 successful candidates for various services under the examinations including IAS, IPS, IFS, among other elite services.

Jatin Kishore from Delhi bagged the second rank whereas, Uttar Pradesh’s Pratibha Verma secured the third rank. With third rank, Verma topped the examination among women candidates. Following the declaration of the results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted “Congratulations to all the bright youngsters who have successfully cleared the Civil Services Examination, 2019! My best wishes.”

To those who could not produce the desired result, Modi said: “Life is full of several opportunities. Each and every one of you are hardworking and diligent. Best wishes for all your future endeavours.”

As per the list of the candidates, 304 candidates of the 829 are from General Category, 78 from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 251 from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 129 from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and 67 from the Scheduled Tribes (ST).
