Dr Santhosh Babu, Principal Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu

Dr Santhosh Babu, a 1995-Batch IAS officer, has taken voluntary retirement from service (VRS). The Government of Tamil Nadu has issued Dr Babu’s VRS order with effect from Saturday, August 22. Dr Babu has been infamous for his significant contributions in his entire career of over 25 years.

Dr Babu has initiated over 250 innovations and initiatives during his tenure, some of the most significant in the field of IT when he served as Principal Secretary IT, Tamil Nadu. Also, while serving as the Collector, Shivaganga and Krishnagiri. He had also been praised by Late Dr Abdul Kalam, Former President of India as a role model district collector. Dr Santhosh Babu had eight more years of service left as per Civil Service rules.
