According to the latest announcements on July 9, Baushuan Ger who is the East Asian and Pacific Affairs Director-General will become Taiwan’s representative to India in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). The current Taiwan Representative to India, Tien Chung-Kwang has served the post for more than seven years. He will replace Hsu Szu-Chien as Deputy Foreign Minister. However, Hsu has been posted as Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC). Such an arrangement convey approval that the relationship with India is likely to become one of Taiwan’s most important diplomatic priorities in the future.
