Mohammed Y Safirulla, a 2010-Batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Secretary IT to the Government of Kerala. Safirualla assumed the new charge, on July 8, a day after a senior IAS officer, M Sivasankar was removed as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Kerala. Sivasankar applied for a year-long sabbatical after his removal and the state immediately granted his request.
