MP Assembly adjourned till March 26, 2020, due to COVID-19 outbreak

The Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly session today, on March 16, was immediately shut down after the Governor’s address, adjourning till March 26, 2020, due to Corona virus outbreak.


The session commenced with the recitation of ‘Vande Mataram’ and slogans like ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. After appealing the members to uphold Parliamentary traditions and responsibilities in a peaceful manner, Governor Lalji Tandon completed his address and left the Assembly. State Assembly’s prominent members including the Chief Minister Kamal Nath; Shivraj Singh Chauhan, BJP Vice-President, and MLA; Gopal Bhargava, Opposition leader, and others.

Following the Governor’s speech, the House was adjourned till March 26. Due to coronavirus scare, the legislators were wearing pollution masks as a preventive measure. NP Prajapati, the speaker had taken the initiative to arranged these masks for all the legislators.
